IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Cindy Marie
(Mambretti) Tuschong
December 18, 1961 – July 22, 2025
Cindy Marie Tuschong (Mambretti) passed peacefully in the arms of her husband after a brief battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025, at the age of 63. Her family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. Cindy was born on December 18th, 1961.
Cindy survived and is deeply missed by her loving husband R.J. with whom she spent the past 30 years; and her children, Charles (Joanna) Mambretti, Phillip Oberer, Jennifer (Jacob) Rinck and Ashlee (Matthew) Zirnheld. She is forever cherished and remembered by her grandchildren, Baron and Beau (Mambretti), and Jaxon and Alexa (Rinck) who affectionately referred to her as "Grammy" and "Gram-cracker".
Siblings and their families; Char (Todd) Smith, Mindy (Keith) Ames and Tami Mambretti. Her memory will be treasured by her nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous friends who were such an important part of her life.
Cindy was predeceased by her father, Charles Mambretti and her mother, Joan (Corrigan). Who she is surely playing golf with as this is being read.
She was born in Rochester, NY and grew up on Lake Ontario with her family in what became frequently referred to as the "Mambretti Compound". Cindy ultimately settled in Palmyra, NY where she enjoyed the last 16 years. Some of her greatest joys came from spending time with family and friends on vacations. They created many memories while visiting the 1000 Islands, Texas, California, The Outer Banks, Florida, Arizona, Savannah, Myrtle Beach and Wilmington, NC which she adored.
Cindy attended Hilton High School and upon graduation began working at Eastman Kodak where she dedicated 39 years working in various leadership roles until retiring in 2021. It is here she met R.J. in 1994, who became the love of her life.
In her retirement, Cindy enjoyed playing Bunco, Euchre, doing yard work, golfing and shopping at TJ Maxx with Ashlee far too often. Her mornings were spent sitting on the back deck while sipping her coffee and playing Yahtzee with her best furry friend, Gracie, by her side. Cindy adored having the kids over for birthdays and holidays, continuing the tradition her parents established of making their favorite meals. Her lasagna was second to none and frequently requested by all.
Cindy always put everyone before herself. She was truly the strongest, most thoughtful person we have ever known and the void she leaves in our hearts is immeasurable.
There are no words that can express our appreciation to our friends and family who were there for us throughout her brief battle and following her passing. Also, a heartfelt thank you to the Wilmot Cancer Center and the Strong Palliative Care team for doing everything they could to save and ultimately care for Cindy in her final days with us.
Per her request we will not be having a service or showing; however, a celebration of her life and legacy will take place later this year with immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers we ask that you donate to Project Purple for pancreatic cancer research so that in the future quicker detection can be achieved and life preserved.
