Obituary

Davis Frederiksen, born on April 10, 1952, in the town of Penn Yan, left this world on October 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of curiosity, and imagination. He was the son of Elmer Frederiksen and Fern Davis, both of whom predeceased him.

Davis was a man of many passions, known for his insatiable love for knowledge and fantasy. His love for the works of J.R.R. Tolkien was a guiding light throughout his life, which he complemented with his enthusiastic participation in Dungeons & Dragons. Davis's fascination with dragons was well-known; he was a dedicated collector, and his home was a testament to his passion, adorned with these mythical creatures that symbolized his adventurous and whimsical nature.

A lover of history and science, Davis was a constant student of the world around him. His inquisitive mind and penchant for storytelling were evident in his involvement with the Sterling Renaissance Festival, where he spent many joyful days immersed in a world of wonder, sharing his enthusiasm with all who crossed his path.

He is survived by his son, Bard, and daughter-in-law, Lindsay, who brought him immeasurable joy. He enjoyed the role as Papa to his Grandsons Tyrion & Rowan. Alongside them, his fur babies, Hades and Ares, as well as his grand fur baby, Hydra, were cherished companions who brought warmth and comfort to his days. His former spouse, Rose, along with several extended family members and dear friends, will forever hold the memory of Davis close to their hearts.

The family is respecting Davis’s wishes and will not be holding a service to honor his life. Instead, they kindly ask that you share a special memory or photo of Davis, allowing his grandsons to discover more about the remarkable man their Papa was. Your stories will be a treasured gift to those who loved him most.

Davis Frederiksen will be remembered for his boundless imagination, his generous heart, and his unwavering love for those he held dear. His legacy will live on in the stories shared by those who knew him, and in the hearts of his family, who will carry his memory forward with love and pride.
