Doreen was predeceased by her parents, Revilo and Alberta (Howe) VanHorn, and her husband John “Rick” Finger, Jr. She is survived by her children, Jeffery (Jeanne) Finger, Denise (Harv) Rettberg, and Pamela (Mark) Hobbs; grandchildren, Jessica (Josh) Wood, Megan (Travis) Mothersell, Nicole (Adam) McGinnis, Erik Hobbs, Clark (Gabby) Rettberg, Rick Rettberg, and Madison Hobbs; 5 great grandchildren, 3 nieces, and one nephew. Doreen will be fondly remembered by many as DeeDee. She graduated from Elmira High School in 1963 and married the love of her life on April 11, 1964. She worked as the Town Clerk/Tax Collector for the Town of Torrey for 20 plus years.

She enjoyed living in her beautiful home on Seneca Lake and loved taking care of her many cat friends. In her retirement, DeeDee enjoyed working in her flower gardens and painting with friends.

There will be no calling hours per her request. A graveside service and celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Arts Center of Yates County or UR Medicine Hospice-Ontario-Yates Counties.
