Nancy Anderson, 77, of Avon, NY, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard; her parents, Francis and Doris Wright, and her sister, Sandra Wright.

Nancy is lovingly remembered by her children, Cheri Frew and Andy Anderson; her grandchildren, Adrianna Anderson (Daniel Speciale), Meaghan Welch (Luis), Micheal Cole (Randi), Trapper Garland, and Dylan Anderson; her great-grandchildren, Thalia, Maddox, Callahan, Cooper, and Clara; her siblings, Ronnie Wright (Nelly), David Wright, and Debbie Wright Smith; her in-laws, Mary Jane and John Hartter; and many friends and community members.

Raised primarily in Southern California, Nancy loved the sunshine. On any given summer day, she could be found sitting by the pool with a glass of iced tea, soaking it in. A beautiful singer, Nancy performed at Disneyland and would always call and sing “Happy Birthday” to her loved ones on their answering machines.

For many years, Nancy fitted children for shoes at Altier’s, where she was adored by customers of all ages—she could tell you your shoe size just by looking at your feet. Known throughout town as “Meme,” a nickname from her grandkids, she truly loved being everybody’s grandma.

Above all else, Nancy found her greatest happiness at her home in Avon, where she raised her kids and grandkids, hosted holidays and Sunday dinners, and watched thunderstorms from the porch with her beloved husband.

In keeping with Nancy’s wishes, no services will be held. Those who loved her are encouraged to honor her memory in their own way and, as she would say, “take it one day at a time.” In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Strong Memorial Hospital.
