Robert Army Sr.

Canandaigua/Olean, NY

Passed away on April 4, 2023 surrounded by family after a courageous battle with ALS. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Marcia, his two sons Robert Jr. (MunKyong), Steven (Jennifer), his brother Walter (Gail), and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His sister Dianne preceded him in death in 2020.

After graduating from Wentworth Institute in Boston, MA he came to Olean, NY with his Family to work for Dresser-Rand Industries (Clark Brothers), starting in the Test Department and eventually becoming Head Test Engineer; he worked there for forty years.

Bob enjoyed playing golf and was a member the Cuba Senior Golf League. He was also a member of St. Augustine Shores Golf Club where he shot a Hole-in-One on the tenth hole. He was an avid outdoorsman, a life member of the Olean Rod & Gun club, participating in target and skeet shooting. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, and snowmobiling. He also was a member of The Fraternal Order of Eagles (Aerie #616), Elks Lodge #0491, NRA, Enchanted Mountain Snowmobile Club, and several bowling leagues.

There will be no services at this time.  In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in memory of Robert may be made in the form of a donation to the ALS Association here .
