Sherman Stanley Jones, 75, passed away peacefully at home on December 16th surrounded by his loving family.

Sherman was born April 11th 1949 in Clifton Springs to his parents, Sherman and Ressie (Stine) Jones. Stan married the love of his life, Donna, on February 2nd 1974. This past winter they were blessed to celebrate 50 years by each other's side and a lifetime of memories.

Sherman was a lifelong athlete and a lover of the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, running and was an avid cyclist. He was a skilled contractor with a passion for agriculture. His passion cultivated decades of hard work building Gala Rose Farms into the 100% registered Wagyu beef farm it is today.

Sherman devoted his life to his family and his farm. He loved both beyond measure. His happiest moments were spent working the farm and watching his grandchildren play, with the cows out to pasture in the distance. Sherm, Stan the man, Stubby, Dad, Pepa... However you knew him, he was one of a kind. He will be immensely missed and remembered always.

Sherman is survived by his wife Donna (Gansz) Jones, 9 children; William Scott Jones, Pamela (Mitch Lefave) Perrin, Justin (Brett) Jones, Joshua Jones, Sarah (Cameo Isaac) Jones, Sandra (Michael) Higgins, Samantha (Steven) Wright, Rebecca (Shawn) Donk, and Candace Riegel, 32 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 8 siblings, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is predeceased by his parents and 2 granddaughters.

At his request, there will be no calling hours or funeral service. A private memorial will be held at the convenience of the family.
