Carol Ann McCloskey
Victor, NY: Died peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by family on Friday, October 28th. She broke the record in her battle with MDS (Myelodysplastic syndrome), surviving years longer than her doctors expected. Carol is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years Donald, children Mark and Joanne, daughter-in-law Diana, grandchildren Chas and Courtney, great grandson Clark, sister-in-law Pat, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a few great-great nieces and nephews.
Born in Wilkinsburg, PA, Carol earned a BA in elementary education from Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA then embarked on her teaching career until Mark came along. After that she dedicated her life to raising her children. Later she used her education background to tutor young students at School #9 in Rochester. Carol was not only a wonderful wife and mother, but also a great friend. The only people that didn’t love her were the ones who never met her. She will be missed immensely by many.
A celebration of life will be held at a later time. To leave the family an online condolence, please visit Carol’s tribute wall, www.fingerlakescremationllc.com. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Golisano Children's Hospital at the University of Rochester. A link has been provided.
